This is the OKE AJE MUSLIM EID PRAYING ARENA, Ijebu Ode 🕌**ANCESTRAL HISTORY:**For over 100 years, this sacred ground has hosted Eid prayers.Islam took root in Ijebuland in the late 19th century through trade and migration.Oke Aje was designated as the open space where Muslims could gather for Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha.But it’s more than prayer.Gatherings here directly preceded the traditional homage walk to the Awujale palace.This is where the spirit of *Ojude Oba* begins.**THE MODERN ARENA:**- **Commissioned**: 20th June, 2009 by HRM Oba (Dr) Sikiru K. Adetona, CFR - The Awujale of Ijebu Land- **Donor**: Otunba Fatai O. Aruwolo - Afolasadun of Ijebu-Ode- **Leadership**: Chief Imam of Ijebu, Alh A.O Salisu Alejulehun and other Muslim leaders- **Inscription**: "LA ILAHA ILLA LLAHU" - There is no God except Allah**WHY IT MATTERS:**1. **Public Identity**: Gave Ijebu Muslims one unified space and identity, dissolving clan divisions2. **Socio-Political Stability**: Proved that Islam and traditional governance could coexist under the Awujale3. **Cultural Pageantry**: The starting point of solidarity, gratitude, and unity that flows into Ojude Oba festival4. **Community**: Thousands gather here every Sallah.
